Mongol Rally
Mongol Rally
In 2015 I completed the Mongol Rally, driving over 12,000 miles, across 21 countries, over 2 months, for charity. It was one of the most amazing adventures I experienced so far, and hopefully, the start of something incredible!
The Journey
The Mongol Rally is an intercontinental car rally that begins in Europe and ends in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia. The rules are simple: drive a small, unreliable car (under 1.2L engine) across mountains, deserts, and some of the most remote terrain on Earth.
Highlights
- 21 Countries: Traversed from London through Europe, Turkey, Central Asia, and into Mongolia
- 12,000+ Miles: Endless roads, many of them barely more than dirt tracks
- Charity: Raised money for Cool Earth and local Mongolian charities
- Teamwork: Navigated border crossings, breakdowns, and unexpected challenges with fellow ralliers
The Adventure Philosophy
This wasn’t tourism—it was true adventure. Getting stuck in the desert, camping under the stars in the middle of nowhere, meeting locals in remote villages, and forging friendships with other ralliers from around the world.
The car ultimately gets donated to Mongolian communities, supporting local transportation needs.
