Rickshaw Run

Rickshaw Run

Rajasthan to Kerala, India

Rickshaw Run

In 2017, I participated in the Rickshaw Run, driving a tuk tuk in India, top to bottom, from Rajasthan to Kerala. Over 3,000 km, with a max speed of 30 km/h, downhill.

The Challenge

The Rickshaw Run is considered one of the most ridiculous adventures on Earth. Teams drive auto-rickshaws (tuk tuks) across India with no set route, no support, and absolutely no guarantee of making it.

The Vehicle

A 7 horsepower, three-wheeled vehicle designed for short city trips, now being pushed to its absolute limits across the subcontinent. Features include:

  • Max speed: ~30 km/h (downhill, with a tailwind)
  • No suspension to speak of
  • An engine that protests every kilometer
  • The most exposed driving experience imaginable

The Journey

Starting in the deserts of Rajasthan and ending in the tropical south of Kerala, we navigated through chaos, beauty, and everything in between. India reveals itself differently from the seat of a rickshaw—vibrant, overwhelming, and unforgettable.

Why?

Because adventure isn’t about comfort. It’s about embracing uncertainty, meeting incredible people, and collecting stories that last a lifetime.
